Anishinaabe’aadziwin (also known as Culture, Language and Heritage)

The Culture, Language & Heritage Department — also known as Anishinaabe’aadziwin — is dedicated to revitalizing the language, traditions, and history of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. Our work focuses on three key areas: Language (teaching and reclaiming Anishinaabemowin), Culture (hosting activities and gatherings that strengthen our traditional ways), and Heritage (developing resources and programs that bring our history to life). Guided by Anishinaabe teachings and a child-centric, intergenerational approach, we provide opportunities for learning, healing, and cultural expression that ensure our identity and knowledge are carried forward for future generations.
