The Justice Department at Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is dedicated to maintaining harmony and balance within our community. We work to prevent crime, mediate conflicts in fair ways, and restore peace where offences or disputes have occurred. Our programs focus on by-law enforcement, emergency preparedness, violence prevention, youth justice advocacy, and cultural approaches such as Kizhewaadziwin E-niigaanzijig. We also provide public education on equality and rights, including Indigenous rights, human rights, children’s rights, and economic rights. Guided by our Comprehensive Community Plan, the Justice Department builds stronger governance, collaborates across departments, and empowers members to create a safer community.
