COMMUNITY NOTICE
ADMINISTRATION REOPENING: MONDAY FEBRUARY 14TH, 2022

The Community Control Group (CCG) has met to discuss the probability of re-opening the administration buildings. During this meeting key indicators were provided that suggest forgoing the original re-opening date of January 31, 2022.

Currently, our COVID-19 case numbers are low, however, this case count is unreliable. The community health team relies on the testing numbers as a reliable indicator of where the community is at in terms of positivity rates. Without this information, there is an unknown which could lead to another spike in positive Covid-19 cases within the community.

Since the holiday closure, CCG has been discussing varying factors, paramount to those discussions is the health and safety of the community and the members of staff that serve the community.

These new variants of concern are highly transmittable and have resulted in the vaccinated experiencing mild symptoms. Therefore, there is a need to review policies and processes that support and promote a healthy and safe environment for staff and for members of the community to access.

Antler River Elementary is taking a similar, and proactive approach to ensuring a healthy and safe learning environment is provided for children and has selected February 14, 2022, as a possible re-opening target.

Childcare has become an issue for essential working parents and our Early Years program will be offering services to support those parents, effective January 31, 2022. Policies and procedures have been put in place for a safe reopening for essential worker families.

Please continue to report any positive cases to the health department, notify your close contacts, and isolate.
