COTTFN is Now Under a Boil-Water Advisory

We have retracted a document that was posted earlier regarding our boil-water advisory, as it contained incorrect information.

Due to the volume of water in our elevated water storage tower, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is implementing a boil-water advisory – effective immediately on July 7th 2021. Because of the high temperatures, the amount of water that is being used in the community is unexpectedly in excess of what is being produced by our water system. We are asking the community to reduce and conserve water where possible, as the high usage is resulting in our system having trouble keeping up with demand. We would like to advise the community that technicians are currently working on the issue and the situation is under control. The projected timeframe for the boil-water advisory is approximately 3 weeks, after which water operations should return to their normal status.

Information about water-pickup for community members will be forthcoming tomorrow, on July 8th.
